York City Youth Team
Welcome to the official website of York City Football Club Youth Team season 2012/13. At the age of 16, the Academy's most talented players are invited to join the club's young apprentice scheme to develop their talents further and provide the opportunity for a career as a professional footballer. The two year development programme involves 3.5 days a week football training and 1.5 days of futher education. We believe it is important for the players to maintain their education so they work towards NVQ/Diploma level qualifications and level 2 coaching, which will benefit the youngsters in later life. The YT scheme is run by 2 full time coaches, Academy Manager Steve Torpey and Head of Academy Coaching Richard Dryden, who are based at the club and work closely with the first team manager.
