Background

The overall annual cost of operating the York City Youth Team is approximately £60,000. There is a financial contribution from the League Football Education, whose scheme we are affiliated to. Also, the Youth parents have committed to fundraise £19,000 per season towards the finances of the scholarship programme. However, there is a shortfall of £40,000, which the Club funds each year.

Communications and Community director, Sophie Hicks said, “We are only able to see the Youth Team continue because the Club, the youth parents and supporters have all pulled together to raise funds to ensure it’s existence. Despite the significant shortfall of £40,000 the Club faces, the Board and the Football Management Team made the joint decision that it is in the best interest of the Club to have a Youth Team going forward."

However £19,000 is a lot of money to find every year so we really need the support of businesses and the general public alike. All donations or sponsorship will be publicised by us, unless anonymity is requested.
